Ilaria La Tarantella
Ilaria has a passion for dance, particularly for dances that embrace the power of healing through music and movement.
She has practised oriental dance for over fifteen years, and most recently has been exploring a wonderful new oriental style called neo-Andalusi dance, created by Nesma al-Andalus. It was her love for folk dance that eventually called her back to the Southern Italian roots. This led her to study in Italy, where she immersed herself in the folk dances of the Tarantella family.
Ilaria La Tarantella will take you on a journey through the South of Italy where rhythm, tradition, and passion come alive through upbeat Tarantella.

Pizzica Pizzica
Sunday 11.30 - 13.00
Together we’ll learn the technique of Pizzica Pizzica and dance to this folkloric frenzied dance whose symbol is the Tarantula. If you'd like to know more about this fascinating, ritualistic traditional dance, come along to the workshop – great fun is guaranteed!
Please wear a long, circle skirt and bring a small veil or a handkerchief.
Bare feet or dance shoes are both fine.
