takes place in the foyer of the Great Hall between 17.00 and 19.00 where you will need to collect keys or wristband for your accommodation

​​Travelling to Wellington School

By Road

Leave the M5 at junction 26 (signposted Wellington)

At the sliproad roundabout take the exit signposted Taunton and Wellington.

At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto West Buckland Road (A38 - signposted Exeter and Tiverton) Continue 1 mile until you enter the 30mph speed restriction zone. At the staggered junction, turn right into Pyles Thorne Road (signposted Wellington – light vehicles only). Go through the traffic calming systems and over the first mini roundabout, Wellington Senior School is on your left – turn in through the gates and take the first left and park in front of Great Hall. 

By Train

Both Taunton Station and Tiverton Parkway Station are about the same distance from Wellington

Rail links from London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads Station to Taunton Station are excellent (15 minutes by taxi to the School.)

  • Train tickets are usually cheaper off-peak

  • Book up to 12 weeks in advance for the best prices

  • Group discounts may be available

  • Many tickets can be stored on your phone via train apps​

  • Arrange to share taxis with other participants

By Air

Bristol International Airport and Exeter Airport are both less than one hour’s drive from the School.

 

Bristol Airport

 

Option 1 Megabus

  • Direct bus from Bristol Airport to Wellington (Cades Farm) every hour

  • Travel time: about 1 hour 15 minutes

  • Return Cost: £15.49

  • It is approximately 0.8 miles to walk from the Cades Farm to Wellington School, which takes about 20 minutes on foot

  • OR you can book a taxi in advance to meet you at the Cades Farm stop. [1, 2, 3] - there is no physical taxi rank at the bus stop so you will need to book in advance

Option 2 — Train

  • Airport bus to Bristol Temple Meads station

  • Train to Taunton

  • Taxi to Wellington School

London Heathrow Airport

Option 1

Typical travel time: 2–2.5 hours

  1. Heathrow Express → London Paddington (15 minutes)

  2. Train from Paddington to Taunton

  3. Taxi to Wellington School

 

💡 Heathrow Express tickets are cheaper when booked 30–90 days in advance

​Option 2

London Heathrow Airport has a direct National Express coach service linking it to Wellington - journey time 3 - 5 hours

Other London Airports

 

Flights may be cheaper to other London airports, but you will need to travel into central London first before catching a train from Paddington to Taunton.

Run by a local driver named Ben, offering 24/7 service for short trips, school runs, and long distances. Known for being very accommodating at short notice if available.

£25 weekday  £35  weekend  - can take up to 4 passengers
