16 years ago Mark discovered Arabic percussion and was immediately hooked, learning initially with Asif Qu.
During the years that followed Mark developed his own Arabic style, studying mostly with the world renowned Hossam Ramzy.
Mark teaches at workshops and runs regular classes in Nottingham. His student group, Saiidi Beats, has developed a growing reputation, entertaining audiences with their party style drumming for dancers to shimmy along to!
Serendipity Workshops
Mark will be running three workshops across the weekend focussing on drumming Technique and Exercises.
Each session will be different but will focus on technique, look at specific hits and how to improve them. We will also look at when they can be used and play some exercises to tax your brain!!
